Ghost integration

How it works

1. Create an Admin API key in Ghost → Settings → Integrations → Add custom integration.
2. Click “Publish to Ghost” on Mentionwell’s Connect page and paste your site address + key. We test it before saving.
3. Send a test post (optional). It lands as a Ghost draft.
4. Publish. Articles publish live; edits update the same post, unpublishing reverts it to draft, deleting removes it.

What gets written into Ghost

• Title, slug and HTML body (converted by Ghost for its editor).
• Custom excerpt, meta title, meta description, OG and Twitter title/description.
• Feature image, uploaded into Ghost’s own image storage (alt text included).
• Tags (article tags + category).
• JSON-LD structured data in the post’s code injection; canonical URL optional.

Why Ghost-first publishers love this

Ghost is the cleanest writing environment in the CMS market. What it doesn’t give you is AEO measurement, draft generation, or an Auto Agent. Mentionwell is the operating layer: it scans, drafts, critics, and pushes — Ghost is where the article lives, the newsletter sends, and the membership runs.

Is Ghost publishing available now?

Yes — connect in one click. Paste your Ghost site address and an Admin API key on Mentionwell’s Connect page; we verify it before saving and start publishing.

Self-hosted Ghost or Ghost(Pro)?

Both. The Admin API works the same way on Ghost(Pro), self-hosted Docker, and any other deployment served over HTTPS.

Does Mentionwell respect my Ghost theme?

Yes. We only write posts — your theme, members layout and newsletter template are untouched.

What about Ghost's editor format?

Mentionwell sends the article as HTML and Ghost converts it into its editor format, so posts open cleanly for human edits.

Email newsletters?

We don’t auto-send the newsletter. Newsletter dispatch stays with Ghost so you keep control over deliverability and timing.
