1. Overview

Cookies are small text files saved by your browser when you visit a website. We use the term “cookies” loosely to also include localStorage, sessionStorage, and similar mechanisms. Where required by law (EEA / UK / Brazil / California), non-essential cookies are only set after you accept them through the consent banner.

2. What we set

NamePurposeTypeLifetime
mw_sessionAuthenticate dashboard sessionsStrictly necessary30 days, sliding
mw_csrfCross-site request forgery protectionStrictly necessarySession
mw_consentRecords your cookie preferencesStrictly necessary12 months
mentionwell_chatPersists in-product chat history locallyFunctional (localStorage)Until cleared
_ga / _ga_*Google Analytics 4 — page views, scroll depth, web vitals (anonymised)Analytics13 months

3. Third-party cookies

Some pages embed third-party services that may set their own cookies if you interact with them: Cal.com (the “Schedule a demo” modal) and Stripe (the billing portal). These cookies are governed by those vendors’ privacy policies. We do not load Cal.com or Stripe assets until you actually open the modal or proceed to checkout.

The marketing site does not embed Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, or any ad-tech pixels. We do not place cookies for advertising or retargeting purposes.

4. Consent and your choices

On first visit from EEA, UK, Switzerland, Brazil, or California, you’ll see a consent banner asking whether you accept analytics cookies. Strictly necessary cookies (authentication, CSRF, consent state) are always set because the site cannot function without them.

Google Analytics is configured with anonymised IPs, no Google signals, no ad personalisation, and beacon transport. We default analytics_storage to denied via Google Consent Mode v2 until you accept.

5. Managing your preferences

  • Click “Cookie preferences” in the footer to change your choices at any time.
  • Browser settings let you block or delete cookies entirely. The dashboard requires the strictly-necessary cookies to log you in.
  • Your browser’s “Do Not Track” signal and the Global Privacy Control header are honoured as a request to deny analytics cookies.

6. Contact

Questions or complaints about how we use cookies: admin@mentionwell.com.
